As much as organisations and individuals claim to be customer-centric, often we are caught out in the beauty and belief of our ideas and products, rather than understanding what is the customer/user problem. This session of Innovators Network will showcase a case study of how the customer problem was uncovered and the Aha moment of an idea that solved that problem.
Aaron Cottrell is our speaker for the evening. Aaron is currently a Senior Product Manager at Zendesk that builds software for better customer relationships.
Aaron is a startup product guy. Growing up in the UK, he was lucky enough to join a small cleantech startup after finishing university. After a few years in a very small team he moved to London to join influence marketing startup PeerIndex, working on a little bit of everything and getting more of a feel for product management.
A couple of years later, Aaron and his (now) fiancee packed a backpack each and headed for Melbourne where they've been living since 2014. Shortly after arriving, Aaron joined Zendesk as a Product Manager.
Aaron will tell the story of trying to create and validate a new product within Zendesk. He'll walk through researching current customer behaviours, getting feedback from customers, selling the story of a new product to internal stakeholders, putting a prototype out and learning how it was used.
